Prayer for the souls of purgatory

[Excerpt from the Book "The Victorious Queen of the Word" by Sor Maria Natalia Magdolna]

One night Jesus requested to me that I pray for the souls of Purgatory.  It was 4:30 a.m.  and I wanted to finish writing my diary, when Jesus said to me:

- My daughter, even when I respect your fatigue, I want to ask you not to go to sleep until you put in writing the state of suffering of the souls of purgatory.  I want that my priest brothers unite in the prayer crusade in favor of the souls that suffer in purgatory.   Now I want to alleviate those that during life frequently asked Me and my Mother, in prayer, to have mercy on them at the moment of death and when they were in the place of suffering.

Jesus then took me to a place so large that I could not see the end of it.  Although the place was dark, the souls there seemed to be calmed.  There were an endless number of souls: they wore black clothes and they were close to each other.  All seemed immovable, quiet, and very sad.  Upon seeing them in this state, I almost became heart broken.  I knew that these souls did not receive aid from anybody on Earth, neither prayer, nor sacrifices.  They knew that the hour of liberation had not arrived yet, but hope that it would not take very long.

After that experience, Jesus took me to another similar place.  There the souls shivered in their black robes.  But when they saw me enter with Jesus, all began to revolt.  I had my rosary in my hands to pray for them.  When they saw the rosary, they all began to shout: "Pray for me, dear sister, pray for me" trying to superpose their voices above each other, soliciting my prayers, like a cloud of bees.  Although all shouted at the same time, I could distinguish the voice of each one.  I recognized many among them, people whom I knew when they were on Earth.  I also saw some nuns of other orders and of mine.  I was frightened when a mother superior turned around towards me and humbly requested me to pray for her.

After this, a nun, well-known by me, with her hands together and touching my rosary, she begged:  "For me, me", while a strange perspiration, I do not know if from the soul or from the body, she pleaded to me: "For me, me", while a strange sweat, I do not know if in the soul or the body, but it ran all over her.

Later Jesus took me to a third place, where there was an endless number of nuns, standing and without movement, while a strong sweat ran over them.  They turned toward me and they pleaded to me that I pray the rosary for them.  At that place, there was light.  I thought: "Why is it that they are requesting me to pray the rosary for them?"  Then Jesus showed a rosary to me, wherein instead of beads there were flowers and in each flower I saw shine a drop of the Blood of Jesus.

When we pray the rosary, the drops of the Blood of Jesus fall on the person for whom we offer it.  The souls of purgatory continuously implore for the saving Blood of Jesus.

The Blessed Virgin and St. Michael the Archangel visiting Purgatory

Excerpt from the Book "An Unpublished Manuscript of Purgatory"

1879, Retreat in September. We see St. Michael as we see the angels. He has no body. He comes to get the souls that have finished their purification. It is he who conducts them to Heaven. He is among the Seraphim as Monsignor said. He is the highest angel in Heaven. Our own Guardian Angels come to see us but St. Michael is far more beautiful than they are. As to the Blessed Virgin, we see her in the body. She comes to Purgatory on her feasts and she goes back to Heaven with many souls. While she is with us we do not suffer. St. Michael accompanies her. When he comes alone, we suffer as usual. When I spoke to you of the great and the second Purgatory, it was to try to make you understand that there are different stages in Purgatory. Thus I call that stage of Purgatory great or worst where the most guilty souls are, and where I stayed for two years without being able to give a sign of the torments I was suffering. The year when you heard me groaning, when I began to speak to you, I was still in the same place.

"Hail Mary"

"One Hail Mary well said fills the heart of Our Lady with delight and obtains for us indescribably great graces. One Hail Mary well said gives us more graces than a thousand thoughtlessly said."

Will you Praise God by honoring Our Lady and pray one Hail Mary today? Just one my friend, just "one" Hail Mary "devoutly said..." God Bless you!

Note: Dear friends I encourage you to please pray one “Hail Mary” every time you see this post. So you will obtain great graces from Our Lord through the intercession of our Blessed Mother, who is the channel of Divine Graces. You never know how happy she is for that "single Hail Mary devoutly prayed in her honour".

God Bless you All!

--- A Testimony ---

Blessed Alan says that a nun who had always had a great devotion to the Holy Rosary appeared after death to one of her sisters in religion and said to her: "If I were allowed to go back into my body, to have the chance of saying just one single Hail Mary - even if I said it quickly and without great fervor - I would gladly go through the sufferings that I had during my last illness all over again, in order to gain the merit of this prayer." This is all the more compelling because she had been bedridden and had suffered agonizing pains for several years before she died.

The proof of love is in the works

"The proof of love is in the works. Where love exists, it works great things. But when it ceases to act, it ceases to exist." - Pope St. Gregory the Great

She will like it now - by Fr. Antonio

It was Wednesday June 5, 2002, when I received a call on my pager.
- “Father Antonio, there is a woman who is dying here at the hospital in Ann Arbor. Her family is asking for a Catholic priest to come and give her the last sacrament. Can you please come?”

Sure. It would be the first experience to anoint someone after 10 months of priesthood. My ministry as a priest was more focused on giving Jesus Christ to His people through the Eucharist (saying Masses) and the Sacrament of Reconciliation (hearing confessions). I was also offering spiritual direction to a good number of people. I drove 15 minutes from home. I arrived at the hospital and entered the room.

There was a woman lying in her bed, dying. Her eyes were closed. Her family was gathered around her: the husband, the sons & their wives. They were comforting each other. I opened the book of prayers and prepared the oil. We prayed. I anointed the woman. After the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, I asked the family to pray with me the rosary. I believe that the presence of Mary can give great comfort for the woman’s soul.
The husband approached me as if he was embarrassed. He whispered saying:
- “Father, my wife never believed in rosaries. She never prayed the rosary. She never liked it.”
- “She will like it now,” I said it, with my Lebanese accent and a Maronite spirit.
We started praying the rosary. When we reached the 4th sorrowful mystery, the woman opened her eyes. The sons approached their mother to see what was going on. They were crying, amazed.

At the end of the Rosary, I asked the sons:
- “What did you see?”
- “Her eyes were filled with peace,” one of her sons answered.
I knew that Mary was present. I knew that she comforted that woman. It didn’t matter whether that woman prayed the rosary in her life or not, whether she liked it or not. It doesn’t matter for Mary for she is a mother not a judge. Mary, who was present under the cross at the moment of Christ’s death, is also present at the moment of our death. This is why we pray: Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Revelation of Christ to St. Mechtilde

He who is in the habit of devoutly hearing holy Mass shall in death be consoled by the presence of the angels and saints, his advocates, who shall bravely defend him from all the snares of infernal spirits.

My own experience about the "Souls in Purgatory" - Anonymous

[English]
Easter Sunday, Mass has ended and I am going to light some candles for all the souls in purgatory. I've been doing this for quite a long time but I can't remember when did I started offering candles and prayers for them.

After lighting the candles I began to pray, 1 Our Father... 3 Hail Mary's... 1 Glory be and the Fatima Prayer. Then I offered them up to our Heavenly Mother so she can used them and help the holy souls, who are so long forgotten and suffering the most in purgatory.

During prayer, I heard a soft peaceful voice who said: "On the day of the Last Judgement God will recall this moment in your life, on how much you have love us". I was surprised at first but afterwards peace reigned in my soul. Could it be "a soul in purgatory" expressing his gratitude? I really don't know but one thing is for sure, and all the saints have proved it, All those poor souls suffering in the prisons of purgatory love us and how they wanted all of us to be saved too.

But few people remember them. Few offer their prayers for them. If only people know how much they can pray for us. They would take the task of offering even a simple prayer everyday for their relief.

Sister Raquel’s "PRAYER AGAINST SATAN’S FORCES IN THE ‘FINAL WAR"

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

I, as God’s loyal servant, together with His people, proclaim Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Son of Mary and Lord of all circumstances and difficulties of today in the world. In the name of Jesus Christ, by the power of His blood and in the authority of His Word, given to me as a Christian, I bind and reject you, satan, our real enemy. I command you to depart from us. I seal the Philippines and the whole of humanity in the precious blood of JESUS CHRIST, the Way, the Truth and the Life.
I, together with God’s people, bind and reject all evil spirits in the air, wind, fire, water, under the water, in the netherworld, in the elements and in all satanic forces in nature. I bind and reject all spirits of division, disruption, fear, anger, anxiety, all spirits of unforgiveness, resentment, and disobedience to the laws of God and legitimate authorities. I bind and reject all interlocking evil spirits controlling all media programs, video games, unholy activities in the Internet, television, radio and every medium of communication.
Our real enemies are those satanic influences in our lives. Our victory against satan will come only when each one of us change our hearts, when we repent our ways. To repent means to become like JESUS CHRIST – when we obey the will of the Eternal Father; when we begin to glorify God in our thoughts, words and actions; when we look at ourselves before the holiness and humility of JESUS CHRIST, the Face of God in our midst. Then will the divine in our midst make satan depart.
In the name of JESUS CHRIST, I, together with God’s people, break and dissolve every disease, especially cancer, every evil wish, evil desire and evil intention, every evil curse and spell. I come in JESUS’ name against all satanic vows and control, mind control, and doubtful practices and teachngs. GET OUT OF OUR LIVES. OUT! OUT!

LORD JESUS CHRIST, BY THE POWER OF GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT, FILL US WITH THE SPIRIT OF PEACE, LOVE AND FORGIVENESS. HEAL EVERY HUMAN HEART WITH YOUR FORGIVING SPIRIT. GIVE EACH ONE OF US, YOUR CHILDREN, THE GIFTS OF JOY AND LAUGHTER AND THE ABILITY OF THE MIND, SO THAT EACH ONE OF US, REGARDLESS OF SEX AND RELIGION, MAY CONTINUE TO USE THESE GIFTS AS WE GIVE LOVING SERVICE TO OTHERS, THEREBY GLORIFYING OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN, WHO SAID, “THOSE WHO DO NOT STAND BY ME WILL FALL (BOOK OF AMOS) MAY THIS BE OUR GUIDE AS WE GO THROUGH OUR DAILY ACTIVITIES. THROUGH THE INTERCESSION OF MARY, MOTHER OF JESUS, AND ALL GOD’S SAINTS, WE PRAY THAT YOU DELIVER EACH ONE OF US FROM THE EVIL ONE. AMEN.

Father Syquia's prayers for Protection and Deliverance

Father Syquia's prayers for protection and deliverance:

Step 1: Prayer for Protection:

Jesus Crucified, cover me, my family, relatives, and friends and all our possessions with Your Precious Blood. (Recite three times)

Step 2. Prayer for Armor

I put on God's armor to resist the devil's tactics. I stand my ground with truth buckled around my waist and integrity for a breastplate. I carry the shield of faith to put out the burning arrows of the evil one. I accept salvation from God to be my helmet and receive the Word of God from the Spirit to use as a sword.

Step 3. Prayer for Deliverance (said forcefully)

In the Name of Jesus of Nazareth, through His tremendous power as God and through His most powerful and salvific Name, I rebuke, repudiate, bind and cast out all spirits not of the Holy Spirit. I command you, in the Name of Jesus, to depart right now from (state the person or place) and go immediately and directly to the foot of the Cross and never to return.

(Then pray this prayer to the Holy Spirit asking for assistance and His infilling):

O Most Holy Spirit, enter into the empty spaces left by these spirits and fill (state name of person or place) with Your Presence, love, and protection. Please do not allow these spirits to return.

Step 4. Prayer to the Angels.

(Make a personal prayer to the angels to stand guard and remain around the person or the place just delivered to seal them from future demonic influences)

Step 5. Prayer for Cleansing.

Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior by the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray that the cleansing power of the Most Precious Blood of Your Son come upon us right now. Purify us and wash us clean with the Blood of Jesus from the top of our heads down to the very soles of our feet. Let this Blood penetrate the very marrow of our bones to cleanse us from any entanglement from whatever spirit and refresh our bodies, souls, and spirits. And may the Sign of Your Holy Cross drive away all evil spirits from us. (Make the Sign of the Cross). In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Step 6. Prayer of Praise and Thanksgiving.

(Make a personal prayer of praise and thanksgiving to God)

Padre Pio and the souls in Purgatory

Padre Pio told this story to padre Anastasio. "One evening, while I was alone in choir to pray, I heard the rustle of a suit and I saw a young monk that stirred next to the High altar. It seemed that the young monk was dusting the candelabra and straightening the flower vases. I thought he was Padre Leone rearranging the altar, and, since it was supper time, I went to him and I told him: “Padre Leone, go to dine, this is not the time to dust and to straighten the altar”. But a voice, that was not Father Leone’s answered me”: “I am not Padre Leone”, “and who are you? “, I asked him. “I am a brother of yours that made the noviciate here. I was ordered to clean the altar during the year of the noviciate. Unfortunately many times I didn’t reverence Jesus while passing in front of the altar, thus causing the Holy Sacrament that was preserved in the tabernacle to be disrespected. For this serious carelessness, I am still in Purgatory. Now, God, with his endless goodness, sent me here so that you may quicken the time I will enjoy Paradise. Take care of me.” I believed to be generous to that suffering soul, so I exclaimed: “you will be in Paradise tomorrow morning, when I will celebrate Holy Mass”. That soul cried: “Cruel!” Then he wept and disappeared. That complaint produced in me a wound to the heart that I have felt and I will feel my whole life. In fact I would have been able to immediately send that soul to Heaven but I condemned him to remain another night in the flames of Purgatory."

St. Claude de la Colombiere on the "Holy Mass"

"God is more honoured by a single Mass than He could be by all the actions of angels and men together, however fervent and heroic they might be. Yet, how few hear Mass with the intention of giving God this sublime honour! How few think with joy on the glory a Mass gives to God. How few rejoice to possess the means of honouring Him as He deserves! . . . If we only knew the treasure we hold in our hands!

--- St. Claude de la Colombiere
